an itemized list (Appendix A) of what User
Group Membership covers and what it does not. This
list was last updated January 1, 2005 and is designed to help eliminate questions about the specific items
that UGM Dues cover. In general, UGM Dues cover software upgrades
and services to allow Summit's software to run successfully
on the main workstation or console. User Group Membership also
covers the distribution of FREE Summit software upgrades for
already purchased software to ensure you are running Summit's
latest support releases.
What's Included in User Group Membership
In general, membership covers software upgrades and services to allow
Summit’s software to run successfully on the main workstation or console. UGM also covers the
distribution of free Summit software upgrades for already purchased software to ensure you are
running Summit’s latest supported releases. In general, hardware, operating systems,
networking, data communications and other related issues are not covered under UGM unless
specifically addressed with a UGM fee or hardware warranty.
"Above and Beyond" Support Costs
Software support services that are not covered under the User Group Membership are billed at a
discounted rate of $100 per hour unless otherwise specified. Technical Support, hardware,
operating systems, networking and PC administration support are billed to members at a
discounted rate of $120 per hour. Programming services are billed to members at a discounted
rate of $140 per hour. The hourly rate for customers NOT in User Group Membership is $200
per hour for all services. Rates are billable in minimum 15 minute increments.
Training
Onsite training is $100 per hour and retraining in Fort Wayne or over the phone is $80 per hour. Training in Fort Wayne or over the phone is free for the first 6 months after a
software module purchase. Travel time is $50 per hour, mileage is $.60 per
mile. Hotel, car rentals, airline and other travel expenses are billed at actual expenses.
Upgrades for Non-UGMs
If updates are required and User Group Membership is not elected, the upgrades may be purchased by paying back
maintenance not to exceed 50% of the current Summit Software List Price. A quote will be
provided detailing all charges, both fixed and estimated to bring your system current. Additional
programming labor charges may apply depending upon the number of releases are involved. Onsite
trips and travel expenses may also be required. Support invoices, while not on UGM, will
not be credited.
After Hours/Emergency Support
To reach us M-F 5-9pm or Sat 8am-5pm, call 260.615.7264. After hours support is ONLY for UGMs and is for emergencies only (if your system crashes, etc.). After hours support costs $200.00 per hour (30 minute minimum charge). No Sunday or Holiday hours are currently offered, however, the hours might be adjusted during harvest time. |
